real ghost stories based on real research from true believers™

Well, I am very excited to say that I am going to be visiting Stepp Cemetery with my family over the 16th and 17th weekend in August. I was just wondering if anyone has ever visited this place...any experiences or activity?

Hi Linzi,
A woman supposedly dug up her baby and rocked it on a tree stump that looked like a chair. Today they say you can see her rocking the baby and hear her crying. This phenomenon has been observed in the day and night at virtually all times of the year. People have also reported uneasy feeling, vomiting and even temperature changes and abnormal wind gusts. Some folks have reported people rising out of their graves en masse. Finally, the legend has it if you can find the tree stump chair and sit on it, you'll die within the year. Happy Ghost Hunting! :)
I have heard so much about the Stepp Cemetary, but I never heard why it was supposed to be haunted. Now I know.
oh great, I know I won't be sitting down on any stumps!
There are actually many different versions of this story, there is one about a baby that passed and the mother who comes to the baby's side everynight and sings to the baby while rocking it, there is one that a road worker was killed, another that a teenage girl was out on a date and told her boyfriend she didnt love him so he dropped her off on the side of the road, where she disapeared, therefore her mother still walks looking for her. No matter what version though, the story always includes a weeping mother dressed in black who sits on a stump that looks like a chair watching over her loved one. It is said you can here her crying. I personally have not been there yet, but it is planned soon. I have talked to people who have been there and have reported hearing crying from a woman and what sounds like a woman screaming in the distance.
Do let us know how your visit goes, and I am not really sure if I would sit on any tree stumps either! However, I would take photos of any good looking tree stumps, lol.
I plan on taking a million pictures! I have a map of all of the cities we pass through and I am stopping at every "known" haunted place and every pioneer cemetery that there is! I am highly sensitive so even if there isn't a haunting, I can still sense the resting and calmness that these spiritual places give off. I am sure I will have pictures posted by monday morning!
Rock on! Let us know if you see, feel, experience anything! :)
ok, I'm back...the trip was amazing...there were people getting high out there though. Does anyone know how to get pictures off of your camera's internal memory and into the memory card?
It depends what kind of camera you have.

I have had some Kodak cameras and I am not sure there was an option for that. But you should be able to connect your camera to your computer with the USB cable and then download it to the computer that way.

(Michael typing, in my day job I am an IT guy...)
well, that's just great...my boyfriend gave me this awesome computer that I don't have to use USB cables...It has like 4 different memory card slots. Thats perfect and all, but my best pictures of Stepp were taken in the daylight and now I can't use them.

Pics will be posted soon.
Check the camera menus or the manual, yours might have a way to copy it from internal to memory card.

Or go to Bestbuy (or wherever it came from) and see if they can figure it out.

We want to see those pictures!!! :-)

And of course hear your description!
Curious why can't you use these photos you took?
