More Hauntings / paranormal activity in fall/winter or spring/summer?
I was just thinking, with daylight saving times over, and it getting dark so much sooner,I would like everyones opinion, when have you come across more hauntings/paranormal experiences?
In fall/winter, when its darker, colder, and one spend more time inside? Or spring and summer?
For me, living with ghosts and ghost tours I really can't say.... it depends where we go... I don't pick up much at home, I am not as sensitive as Nicole. So when we travel, and go places, or I visit new homes/buildings... thats when I get more feelings, independent of the time of the year.
How about you?

I have been thinking about this as I look thru old pictures...I lost alot of pics when my basement flooded this past Feb, but I always get orbs in friends and family photos at Christmas and when I go out. I take alot of pics, as you know, and usually capture an orb or two on my photos. When I was little I remember seeing a lady standing in our home in the hall way talking on the phone. You never understood her it was muffeled. When I grew up, before my grandmother passed away, she said, "you've seen her havent you?" I described her to my grandmother and she said don't be afraid she is a nice lady. My mother 20 years later asked me if I ever felt someone in the house, I asked her what she felt/saw. Same lady. I have been trying to figure out who she is and haven't been able to, but we know she is friendly and appears full body, at night in late 50's/60's peddel pushers and hair dew, tall and thin. ( my parents house was built in about 1958 or 1959 by a young couple, and my parents bought it in 1960. No one lived in the house before my parents. I often wonder who that couple was and if something happened to the wife and she has been living there all this time) I have not said anything to my kids in hopes that they see her as well and in 20 years asks me about her!
So for me...fall winter dark light warm cold ...to me spirits are all around us. I like to think the ones in the photos at Christmas are of my family that came back for a visit!

I often wonder about family pics with orbs too.
So you are still in that house with that lady?
Do you know what was on the property before they built that house in the late 50s?
Would be neat to find out

I think seasonal hauntings would have more to do with the location of the haunt and what happened there and when. Can some people be more receptive to hauntings by season, probably. I notice more activity before a storm, usually thunder storms, not so much snow storms. I think that if a group of people are together, they can draw spirits, or spirits attatched to people may show up. If the group is mainly family, several related spirits could show up.
This is an interesting topic.
You can check out the old plat books at the court house, or if you have a deed for your property it should contain all the former owners names back to when the lot or acreage was bought.

not to sound dumb but what is a plat book? I have the house papers in a safe at the bank, in northern indiana. my parents, our family is the only family to live in the house, however, it was built by a young couple that never lived there...my problem is getting to northern indiana and to the courthouse when it is open! i will some day tho!
I also agree that when people are together they draw spirits. I have one picture of my daughter having a Christmas Party at our house a few years ago that is filled with orbs! It is funny how one pic has them and moments later...none. amazing that we got them on film tho!

The county clerk or recorders office or county assessor has these huge old thick books with maps of the area they serve, from the very beginning of land deals. The oldest maps will only have one or two names per page, which means someone was deeded a lot of land, then the books progress volumn to volumn and each parcel is broken up smaller and smaller made into suburbs and the city.
Your original deed may say what plat book your property is in, if not you will have to look it up there.
If you have the name of the county the property is in, which you do, then you can call the court house and maybe get some info on the phone without actually having to go there, most of this information is public record, meaning anyone can get it, or see it, and you have every right to ask for the info. If you need something printed or looked up it will take time and they may charge for copies.
Usually the plat book info farther back isn't online, but you might have some county property information online at the assessors office, but it only goes back so far.
It is really interesing that your families home was built by a couple, then never lived in, like did tragedy befall the couple and they never moved in...did they just build the house to sell and they lived somewhere else...makes me wonder...
I think it's cool you folks are not upset by the lady ghost. I much prefer to send spirits over, but sometimes not. You all seem to cooexhist just fine together. I like it that your kids don't seem scared, and you didn't seem so as a child.
My younger daughter won't go to the bathroom by herself because of the suitcase ghost man here, and we keep telling her it is fine and she is okay, guess we gotta keep reinforcing she's safe. We have an older mobile home right now and have this stray spirit. I don't seem able to connect with him much, but I feel it when he's in the back end of the house, and I think he is relatively harmless, just wants to be alone sometimes.

My Parents house is in northern Indiana and they still live there, yes. I remember when my parents toured the house before they bought it, I was 2 and I remember because there was a bag of candy on the counter, anyways there were houses around us, field behind our house, and across the street were empty lots...I am the owner of the house, my parents are elderly, and I thought when I go up next if the court house is open I will start there to see if I can find out who built the house and go from there...I'll let you know!

Went back home for Thanksgiving...Took some pics at night by the phone in the hallway. did not pick up anything except a few orbs behind my daughter. I never made it to the court house, to see if I could find out who built the house, but still plan on trying to figure that out.
