Very old hat! My mother used to say that proper Bostonians didn't buy their hats--they "had" them. Me, too.

I am Nicole's sister (older sister), and when she came down last Thanksgiving, we checked the edge of the woods with equiptment, and zilch...no odd feelings, no shadow moving through the woods, nothing. I tend to think there is some land elemental or spirit in the woods. On the north side of the wood is a road with random homes and several of them have working oil wells and they do stink. Since the land has been upset and disturbed by drilling, I am leaning towards an agitated land spirit.
